Description

Her2 is a member of human epidermal growth factor family and encodes for a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in signal paths of growth factors. Overexpression of Her2 gene is associated with development of various carcinomas including breast, ovary, colon, prostate, bladder and lung. Her2 plays an important role in diagnosis and therapy of breast cancer as it is overexpressed in 15 - 30 % of all cases, which has been shown to be an indicator for poor prognosis with more aggressive progression of disease and decreased overall survival. 1-7 — Références — 1.
