For In Vitro Diagnostic Use

Clone BSB-171 IgG1 Mouse Monoclonal

Description

Cyclin D3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCND3 gene. Cyclin D3 forms a complex with and functions as a regulatory subunit of CDK4 or CDK6, required for the G1/S cell cycle phase transition. Abnormal expression of Cyclin D3 was found in many different cancers and may be an unfavorable prognostic biomarker for various malignancy patients. Expression of Cyclin D3 was significantly associated with breast cancer prognosis and was shown to be an independent prognostic marker in breast cancer; high Cyclin D3 expression indicates poor disease free survival rate in breast cancer. Increased p27 expression in Hurthle Cell variant of Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma was shown to be caused by the overexpression of Cyclin D3. Cyclin D3 overexpression also plays a role in the progression of Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma as well as androgen receptor-dependent proliferation in Prostatic Adenocarcinoma.
